Description

The Blue Loo is located in Glengarriff, County Cork. This quirky pub has been in the Harrington family for 5 generations and has been known as the Blue Loo since 1973. Located at the end of the village on the main street, this traditional bar is known for delicious sandwiches, live music, racy postcards, and yes, blue loo’s (toilets). Whether outside on the benches during the summer, or sitting inside by the fire in winter, it is always a popular spot with friendly locals and adventurous tourists.

The small village of Glengarriff is located in the heart of West Cork in the scenic Beara Peninsula, surrounded by rugged mountains, woodlands, and beautiful Bantry Bay. After spending a day exploring nature by foot, bike, or boat, the Blue Loo is the perfect spot to relax with a drink and watch the world go by.

The pub has been closed for the first time in 5 generations since March 2020 because of Covid, but the owners have been keeping busy with updates and renovations and look forward to opening again as soon as it is safe and allowed. If you plan on making a trip to the Blue Loo in the future, or just want to support a great family pub during these difficult times, visit their website www.theblueloo.com/ to purchase a gift card for a future pint.
